Kavach 4.0 Successful Testing: There is good news for the Indian Railways, which has been troubled by the frequent rail accidents for some time. In fact, the Railways successfully tested Kavach 4.0 between Sawai Madhopur-Kota section on Tuesday (24 September 2024). It is being told that Kavach 4.0 will prevent rail accidents.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed about its successful test on Tuesday. In a special conversation with news agency IANS, he also gave information about the railway’s automatic train protection technology. He told that many countries of the world had brought automatic train protection technology in the 1980s and 90s, but the then governments in our country did not take any steps regarding it. They had no focus on railways. They only used to do politics.

The Railway Minister said, “In 2014, when the government was formed in the country under the leadership of PM Modi, the first thing that was done was to work on automatic train protection technology. Its first version was made in 2016 and in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2024 we are working on its 4.0 version. This version was approved on 16 July 2024. Work is going on across the country on its installation. It has been inspected on the 4.0 version between Kota to Sawai Madhopur area, which is a good facility.”

How will Kavach 4.0 work?
The Railway Minister said that Kavach gives signals to the driver several kilometres in advance. Suppose a red light is about to come 6 kilometres away, then the driver will see the red light in advance and he can reduce his speed accordingly. If the driver does not reduce his speed, then Kavach can apply the brakes itself. Kavach brings a huge change in the life of the driver, safety of railways is also very important.
